Youth ages 9-18 enrolled in 4-H can participate in a variety of competitions and contests including fair exhibits, fahion revue, variety show, communications day, record books, and more. See below for more details.

Fair Exhibits:

Graves County 4-H fair exhibits are entered at the Graves County Fair for judging on the county level. All fair exhibits that receive a blue ribbon and class champion in a class eligible for competition will advance on to judging and exhibition at the Kentucky State Fair. The Graves County Fair Book will be available in early summer. In planning your fair exhibits, please utilize the Kentucky 4-H State Fair catalog:

Fashion Revue:

Model a garment that you have sewn or a wardrobe you have put together at the county level! Winners may advance to area and state competitions. The county and area fashion revues are held each spring. Area winners in the senior division may advance to the State Fashion Revue held in June every year at Teen Conference.

Variety Show:

4-H’ers aged 9 and up can participate in the variety show—they can sing, dance, play instruments, perform a theatre piece, and more. The sky is the limit! District and state level opportunities are available. The county and area variety shows are held each spring.

Communications Day:

Do you like to speak in front of others and show off what you know? Prepare a speech, demonstration, or job interview for County Communications Day! Winners may advance to area and state competitions. The county and area communication days are held each spring. State competition is held in the summer each year at the University of Kentucky campus.

Record Books:

Document your experiences from your projects by completing record books! Write your project story and compete for ribbons and prize money! County and area record book competitions are held every fall.
